WEG hosted 49 visitors at its headquarters in Jaraguá do Sul, Brazil, including students, teachers, and authorities from the city of Homberg, Germany, who were eager to learn about the operations of the company, which is now the largest Brazilian company based in the German city.

The group, consisting of 9th-grade and high school students from Präsident Theo Heuss School and Bom Jesus College in Joinville, participated in a student exchange program. During the visit, they learned about WEG’s operations at the largest manufacturing complex in Latin America, the CentroWEG, the technical school for young apprentices, and the Science and Technology Museum, where WEG’s history began in 1961.

The visit was attended by the mayor of Homberg, Dr. Nico Ritz, and other local authorities, who were welcomed by Rodrigo Fumo, Managing Director of WEG Industrial Motors; Ana Paula Hauffe Torquato, Institutional Relations Manager; Silvane Bresolin dos Santos, HR Supervisor; and the Marketing team of WEG’s International Division.

The visit strengthens the bond between WEG and Homberg, which is celebrating the 500th anniversary of Hans Staden, a historical figure in German-Brazilian relations. Born in Homberg, Staden was the first to write a book about Brazil in the German language in 1555. WAK, WEG’s subsidiary in Homberg, was also involved in the project, further strengthening ties between the company and the local community.
