There is a global movement among companies to increase the use of clean energy. For WEG, this has long been part of its strategy to manufacture and supply increasingly efficient products that help meet these demands.

With this in mind, two customers in Argentina—Hafele, a specialist and world leader in furniture and construction hardware, and Alcon, a global leader in contact lenses and ophthalmic solutions—partnered to install WEG photovoltaic panels in the parking lot they share at their manufacturing complex.

For this solar carport, WEG supplied a total of 120 WEG photovoltaic modules of 550 Wp, connected to two (2) SIW500H ST060 solar inverters. It is estimated that the companies will achieve a 40% reduction in electrical energy consumption. This is the first carport of its kind that WEG has installed in Argentina.

These 120 photovoltaic modules will generate 159.90 MWh/year, reducing emissions by about 62 tCO2e into the atmosphere annually.

There are plans to expand the installed capacity by adding more photovoltaic modules to the roofs of the industrial buildings. In the coming months, a WEG WEMOB charging station will be installed to promote the use of renewable energy in electric mobility.

The installation was carried out by NORGAV SA, a company specializing in solar generation installations in Argentina, which developed the project under a “turnkey” model using WEG equipment.

This is another example of how WEG has become one of the main suppliers of solar products and solutions, contributing to the future of the energy transition.
