WEG and the Algerian Sonatrach, the largest company in the Oil and Gas segment in Africa, strengthen their relationship with the signing of a MoU in Algeria.

The company's CEO, Mr. Harry Schmelzer Jr. was in the country to sign the MoU, accompanied by the CEO of Sonatrach, Mr. Toufik Hakkar.

The MoU establishes the bases for a close cooperation between WEG and Sonatrach and the priority areas of cooperation include energy efficiency, maintenance of electrical equipment, digitization and people development.

The collaboration between the parties also emphasizes the development of local content, with the aim of identifying joint opportunities to build local capacity and promote national integration.

This strategic alliance will allow WEG to strengthen its presence in the Algerian market and bring its expertise and state-of-the-art technological solutions to Sonatrach's projects. In exchange, Sonatrach will benefit from WEG's experience and know-how to optimize its operations and increase its energy efficiency, providing innovative and environmental friendly solutions.

The signature of the MoU carried out by the main executives of both companies attests the commitment to strengthen collaboration in these essential areas and contribution to the sustainable growth of the industry in Algeria.
