The 2019 Executive of the Year Award was given to Harry Schmelzer Jr., President and CEO of WEG, for the Industrial Machinery and Equipment category, for the 11th consecutive time.

Organized by Valor Econômico newspaper, the award elects the best executives in 24 market sectors. The winners were chosen upon a selection process that included 458 names indicated by 14 headhunters, affiliated with the Association of Executive Search Consultants (Aesc). This Association gathers over 350 companies operating at the highest standard in the executive search and leadership consulting profession in 70 countries.

The awarding ceremony took place on May 28th, in São Paulo.
