WEG was one of the highlights in the report of The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) as one of the thirteen Brazilian representatives in the ranking of the 100 most innovative companies in the world. The American institution listed the companies which, due to their fast annual growth, are challenging the competitors already established in the market.
The study is part of the “Global Challengers” series , which is carried out by the BCG to identify companies that have been establishing themselves in the global economy. With around 36% of its revenues coming from the external market and the recent acquisitions of Voltran in México and ZEST Electric in South Africa , WEG Group earned its place in the list.
This is a result of WEG’s policy of constantly investing over 2,5% of its revenue in Research & Development.
Besides WEG, other twelve Brazilian companies are in the list: Brasil Foods, Camargo Corrêa Group, Coteminas, Embraer, Gerdau, JBS, Marcopolo, Natura, Odebrecht Group, Petrobras, Votorantim Group and Magnesita Refratários.
