The constant pursuit of process improvement has been present at WEG since its foundation, increasingly driven through the WEG Continuous Improvement Management System, the WEG Management System (WMS). Therefore, the company invests in Kaizen practices, a participatory management system that allows all employees to contribute with ideas to enhance the processes in which they are involved.
Every year, thousands of ideas are implemented through KaizenWEG, contributing to excellent results. Since the launch of the KaizenWEG portal in 2016, an exclusive area for registering improvements, over 210,000 Kaizens have been completed throughout the company, highlighting the company's commitment to innovation and operational excellence.
To honor the employees contributing to these results, in early March, the company held the second edition of the Kaizen event. A significant moment that involved, since the beginning of the selection process, approximately 8,700 employees and a total of 30,760 kaizens carried out solely by the industrial motor manufacturing area.
Initially, projects were presented, and standout employees were recognized in the categories of Safety, Quick Kaizen, Standard/Advanced Kaizen, Mobilization, and B/C for each section of the area.
At the year's end, among all these highlights, one employee was recognized in each category, totaling five employees per department. And finally, these employees were invited to the recognition event, along with their project teams.
During the event, which took place in person in the city of Jaraguá do Sul, (SC), Brazil, 72 standouts and 7 "grand champions" were recognized.
The Kaizen Olympics event not only acknowledged individual efforts but also celebrated the culture of continuous improvement that drives WEG, bringing more efficiency, quality, and productivity to all processes.
