WEG was one of the companies highlighted in the report prepared by The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) as one of eleven Brazilian representatives on the Global Challengers list.

This report includes 100 companies from emerging markets that are the most rapidly globalizing.
Conducted since 2005, the study identifies the Global Challengers as companies that grew their business three times faster than their counterparts in mature markets from 2009 to 2014.

Included on the list are companies from emerging markets that have captured relevant global market share doing business in sectors as varied as household appliances, construction and engineering, industrial conglomerates, construction materials, and real estate development.

Additionally, the report indicates that these companies, within their development process, spent significant efforts in buying foreign companies to expand production scale, explore new markets or search new technologies.
