This transformer, rated 30 MVA, 145kV is responsible for energy distribution of the whole region.

This is not the only transformer being supplied to South Africa. The transformer division is manufacturing seven units to Engen, petrochemical industry, and to the platinum mine Impala.

The country also has four transformers installed in the Hernic Ferrochrome. These transformers 2 x 7,5 MVA and 2 x 10 MVA were sold by the South Africa WEG Representative, Zest Electric Motors inaugurated a new Drives Center in March this year in Johannesburg. Currently Zest consists of a team with expertise dedicated to sales, application and services, with a complete stock of WEG products.
