Service Engineer – Benelux
1. Objective
The goal of this role is to define the profile, experiences, competencies, and responsibilities of the HVService Engineer who will be responsible for commercial activities in the Germany, France, and Benelux markets. The primary objective is to drive business growth by prospecting new clients, expanding service offerings, and identifying opportunities for WEG’s high voltage (HV) products and solutions in these regions.
2. Necessity
WEG has significant potential for growth in the Germany, France, and Benelux markets, with a variety of industries in need of advanced HV solutions and services. Key customer segments include industrial manufacturing, energy, and automation sectors.
The HVService Engineer in this commercial-focused role will be tasked with generating new business, identifying new service and sales opportunities, and building strong relationships with prospective clients. In addition, the role involves strengthening WEG’s presence through local partnerships and collaborations with repair shops and distributors.
3. Key Responsibilities
The HVService Engineer (Commercial Focus) will be responsible for the following:
Business Development and Client Prospecting:
- Identify and target new potential clients across Germany, France, and Benelux who require high voltage equipment, maintenance, and service solutions.
- Develop and execute strategies to approach and convert new customers, focusing on both short-term and long-term opportunities.
- Generate leads through cold calling, networking, and attending industry events, trade shows, and exhibitions.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of new business opportunities to ensure consistent growth in the region.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Establish and nurture relationships with key decision-makers at prospective clients, including facility managers, engineers, and procurement departments.
- Conduct regular follow-up meetings, presentations, and consultations to understand client needs and present tailored solutions.
- Provide exemplary customer service, addressing inquiries and ensuring a positive client experience throughout the sales process.
Market Analysis and Intelligence:
- Conduct market research to identify industry trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements in the regions.
- Use gathered intelligence to position WEG’s services and products competitively and to anticipate customer needs.
- Monitor developments in the energy, industrial, and automation sectors to uncover potential new markets for WEG products and services.
Proposal Development and Negotiation:
- Develop and present technical and commercial proposals to prospective clients, ensuring alignment with their needs and budget.
- Lead negotiations, overcoming objections, and closing deals to secure new service contracts or product sales.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure all proposals meet WEG’s technical, operational, and financial standards.
Collaboration with Local Partners:
- Work closely with local repair shops, distributors, and service providers in Germany, France, and Benelux to promote WEG services and products.
- Foster relationships with strategic partners to enhance service offerings and generate new opportunities.
- Coordinate with local partners to identify prospects, develop joint proposals, and deliver a unified service experience to clients.
Sales Reporting and Target Achievement:
- Maintain detailed records of all sales activities, client interactions, and business opportunities.
- Provide regular sales forecasts and performance updates to management.
- Meet or exceed sales targets, KPIs, and revenue goals for the region.
4. Required Skills and Qualifications
Commercial Experience:
- Proven experience in sales, business development, or commercial roles within the industrial, electrical, or automation sectors.
- Experience in prospecting and acquiring new clients, with a demonstrated ability to close deals and generate new business.
Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of high voltage systems, electrical equipment, and related service solutions.
- Ability to discuss and present complex technical solutions to a non-technical audience in an accessible way.
Languages
- Fluency in English, German, and French is essential for effective communication with clients and partners in the regions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in all three languages.
Customer-Focused:
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build lasting relationships with clients and partners.
- Ability to understand customer needs and tailor solutions that meet their requirements.
Sales & Negotiation Skills:
- Strong skills in negotiating commercial terms and closing sales.
- Ability to develop compelling proposals and presentations that clearly communicate value.
Self-Motivated & Goal-Oriented:
- Highly motivated with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet sales targets.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities and deadlines effectively.
Travel Flexibility:
- Willingness to travel extensively within Germany, France, and Benelux to meet clients and attend industry events.
Education:
- A degree or technical qualification in Engineering.
- Additional certifications or training in sales, business development, or customer management is an advantage.
5. Working Conditions
Location: Based in one of the countries within the Germany, France, or Benelux region, with frequent travel across these markets to meet clients.
Work Environment: The role will involve a combination of office-based work and field activities, including client meetings and industry events.
Hours: Standard working hours, with flexibility required to accommodate client schedules and travel.
This commercial-focused position is pivotal to WEG’s expansion in the Germany, France, and Benelux regions. The HVService Engineer will be the face of WEG to new clients, driving business development efforts, building lasting relationships, and contributing to the growth of WEG’s high voltage product and service portfolio across these key markets.
