One of the largest transformers manufactured by WEG is already on its way to Teles Pires Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP), located on the border of the states of Pará and Mato Grosso, in the municipalities of Jacareacanga, PA and Paranaíta, MT.
Manufactured at the WEG transformer plant in Blumenau, state of Santa Catarina, the 405 MVA rated power and 282 tons transformer will step-up the 13.8kV generated voltage on the hydroelectric power plant´s generators to 525kV.
This Hydroelectric Plant has been in operation since 2015. With 5 generating units of 364 MW and an installed capacity of 1820 MW, it has enough electricity to supply approximately 13.5 million inhabitants.
“We are complying with all customer´s requirements, offering not only a state-of-the-art, but also an efficient and safe equipment”, emphasizes Carlos Diether Prinz, Managing Director of WEG T&D Business Unit.
In recent years, the WEG brand has taken part on continuous basis in power generation projects, whether in large power plants or in small hydroelectric plants (SHPs). In addition to transformers, WEG has been supplying electric motors, generators, electric panels, repair service for transformers and generators, among others.
