As part of its strategy to sell only electric vehicles in Brazil, GWM Brazil aims to make a strong contribution to the expansion of the electromobility market. With this ambitious target in mind, the company has partnered exclusively with WEG to bring electrification to the Brazilian market.
“WEG already has extensive experience in the market, and has studied this process a lot in the region. It will be a great ally of ours to promote electrification in the country”, celebrates Oswaldo Ramos, CCO of GWM Brazil.
Working with WEG’s technological support, the company is predicting a wide network of recharging electric vehicles in dealerships, parking lots, shopping centers and other commercial establishments. At the same time, WEG will supply GWM with electric vehicle chargers for sale to consumers and for installation at the automaker's dealerships.
Within the partnership, GWM will offer its customers a WEG wall charger (WEMOB Wall model) with 7.4 kW of power, alternating current (AC), which will be sold at any brand’s dealership. With an exclusive three-year warranty, this equipment allows the 34-kWh battery of the Haval H6 (Premium PHEV or GT PHEV) to be recharged from 0 to 100% in about 5 hours and 20 minutes.
The purchase of the equipment already includes a technical visit by a WEG specialist to assess the needs and cost of installing the WEMOB Wall model charging station in the customer's garage. Buyers of the Haval H6 will also be offered three installation packages for the WEMOB Wall model charging station, which vary based on the distance from the charging point to the local electrical panel, with options of 20, 30 and 40 meters away.
“Our strategy is to offer efficient, sustainable and intelligent solutions for vehicle users, seeking to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and providing GWM customers with the best fast and safe charging experience”, comments Carlos Bastos Grillo, WEG’s Digital & Systems Managing Director.
As a special offer for customers who have already reserved a Haval H6 PHEV, everyone will be entitled to a 50% discount on the price of the equipment. This offer is limited to one unit per customer.
WEG will also supply 30 kW direct current (DC) fast chargers, which will be installed in all GWM dealerships and will also be available to recharge vehicles of other brands. With this WEMOB fast charging station, the battery of the Haval H6 PHEV can be fully recharged in just 1 hour and 10 minutes.
It is important to remember that every GWM plug-in vehicle comes standard with a 3.6 kW (AC) portable charger, which allows recharging at home, using a 220V socket with the appropriate basic infrastructure.
GWM plug-in models have a charging socket located at the rear, on the passenger side. This outlet has a Type 2 - CCS2 connector, the most common type in Brazil.
