Siebtechnik, a manufacturer of machinery and systems for treatment of bulk solids and solid-liquid separation in the chemical and food industries, with headquarters in Muhlheim/Ruhr, opts for WEG motors to drive its further developed CONTURBEX series of screen worm centrifuges. The new CX centrifuges boast higher throughput along with significant improvements in accessibility and wear. This is partly due to the powerful dual drive system, which in the CONTURBEX CX 1500 consists of a pair of speed-controlled IE3 induction motors from WEG's W22 series for each unit. The 8-pole low-voltage 132 kW-motors in frame size IEC 315 L combine high energy efficiency with maximum reliability.
Siebtechnik drew on many decades of experience in centrifuge technology to develop the CONTURBEX CX series of screen worm centrifuges using advanced design and production methods. The company focused in particular on process efficiency, machine reliability, extremely high throughput and minimal component count. Based on good previous experience, Siebtechnik again called on WEG to supply the powerful dual drives for the CONTURBEX CX 1500 screen worm centrifuges. The drive specialist already supplied 82 motors to the continuous centrifuge experts in 2012, now followed by another 42 low-voltage motors of the W22 series.
