WEG won the Machinery and Equipment award, promoted by the ranking "Companies Plus", of the leading financial newspaper Estadão", which brings up a list of Brazilian companies with best results in 22 evaluated business sectors. Taking into account the economic performance and also best management practices, the award is based on pre-determined criteria done by a broadcast technical team and by the Foundation Institute of Administration FIA. The actual analysis included 1.5 thousand companies from 22 sectors of the economy all over the country.
In its second edition, the ranking entered a new category of awards and the best ranked companies in the general survey were asked to answer a questionnaire about corporate governance. This assessment came out with another category of winners of companies that follow best corporate governance practices, and WEG was one of the winners.
The award ceremony took place end of September at Casa Petra, in São Paulo and was attended by Brazil´s Minister of Finance, Mr. Henrique Meirelles.
