With the arrival of the year 2024, WEG Portugal reaffirmed its commitment to the society around it by developing a series of social actions involving its employees.

WEG believes that small gestures have the capacity to bring impact in a new Tomorrow. With this in mind, WEG began the year by organising a campaign in favour of all children who are victims of cancer, together with the ACREDITAR association (Association of Parents and Friends of Children with Cancer), where our employees raised more than 500 euros for this cause.

At the same time, the company managed to collect 52.5kg of bottle tops and help Eduardo (Edu). A boy who touched the organisation with his story of resilience. Now, with this help, Edu will be able to buy his electric wheelchair, which will enable him to have a better quality of life.

Because it always feels good to do good, WEG also organised a campaign that donated 53 fans and 39 heaters to seven institutions from Santo Tirso: Associação S. Tiago de Areias; Casa do Sol (ASAS); CAID; Centro Social e Paroquial de Santa Cristina do Couto; Associação Humanitária de Monte Córdova; A.S.S.T.I.R.; Casa de Acolhimento Sol Nascente.

To end the first three months of the year on a high note, we managed to bring smiles to the faces of the children at Escola EB1/JI da Ermida with the donation of several basketball hoops, which will have an impact on around 300 children a year.

WEG believes that people have the power to impact and to transform Tomorrow and will continue to promote initiatives in favour of a common good, the society.
