WEG was one of the winners of the "Innovation Brazil Award" offered by Valor Econômico financial newspaper to the most innovative companies in the country. Among the 150 companies listed in the ranking, conducted in partnership with the consulting company Strategy&, from PwC group, WEG ranked 2nd in the capital goods sector and fifth in the overall ranking, one upper position compared to 2018.

The survey evaluates, in a consistent and systematic way, the innovation practices of companies operating in Brazil in different economic sectors.

The ranking is provided based on five pillars of the innovation chain: strategy for innovation, initiatives to implement innovation, results achieved, market evaluation and generation of knowledge. The objective is to analyze how each of these pillars is built in the companies established in Brazil and how this is reflected in the innovation practices of each participant.

Based on a methodology specially developed for the Brazilian market and on qualitative and quantitative indicators, the survey pointed out the companies that have adopted the best innovation management practices, investments in the local market and the results achieved.

The awarding ceremony took place on July 2 in São Paulo.
