WEG announces the finalization of the agreement to become Peugeot's certified and qualified supplier for the sale and installation of charging stations for electric vehicles. The announcement was made official by the car producer during the launch of Peugeot's new E-208 GT electric vehicle.

The contract provides for the inclusion of WEG's WEMOB WALL and PARKING unit types in Peugeot's product catalog as well as the technical support and installation of charging stations for customers.

Available for both domestic and overseas markets, the WEGMOB is regarded as an innovative solution for clean energy, which is WEG´s main concern with environment protection.

Designed for indoor or outdoor use, either in garages or parking lots, the WEMOB line counts on a modern and compact design. The 7.4kW WALL type allows an 80% recharge within 6 hours and is ideal for homes and condominiums, both for single-phase and two-phase networks. Features included are Wi-Fi connectivity, signaling LEDs, TAG access control, EV Drivers app, and smart charging and energy metering functions.

On  the other hand, the PARKING type, up to 22kW, offers more power and connectivity with Wi-Fi, cable Ethernet and 4G mobile networks, ensuring an even faster 80% recharge within 4 hours, which is ideal for parking lots with shared spaces in condominiums, companies, commercial buildings, hotels, malls and fleet owners that have access to three-phase energy networks.

“Our strategy is to make WEG the main infrastructure provider for charging electric vehicles and a reference in efficient, sustainable and intelligent solutions for the electric mobility segment”, says Manfred Peter Johann, Managing Director of WEG Automation Business Unit.

WEG counts on a wide service network in Brazil and will keep the charging stations updated via Over-The-Air (connection through the customer's internet network), as well as guaranteeing spare parts throughout the national territory.

The new PEUGEOT e-208 GT is a sport car enhancing driving pleasure with focus on electrification. Fast and dynamic, the PEUGEOT 208 is now offered in a 100% electric configuration, marking it’s entry into a niche market with great know-how and significant presence in Europe. PEUGEOT e-208 GT´s performance is supported by an engine that delivers 260 Nm of starting torque (26.5 kgfm) and 136 HP (100 kW), which allows this model to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 8 .3 seconds. With 50 kWh of capacity, Peugeot e-208 GT has a driving capacity of about 340 km with a full load (WLTP "Worldwide Harmonized Light-Duty Vehicles Test Procedure). The system consists of a Type 2 plug for alternating current (AC) and a CCS-2 plug for direct current (DC). Charging starts immediately after connecting the cable, and the user monitors the status from the recharge indicator lights (white = opening for plug connection; green flashing = charging; green steady = full charge; red = recharge problem). Unlocking the vehicle doors releases the charge plug.
