WEG has recently received its first Certification for complying with the commitments proposed by the SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) program, a voluntary initiative created by the UN, which proposes coordinated global actions by the entire society - private sector, governments, civil society, among others - in order to achieve such development goals.
Having joined the program last year, WEG was duly certified for meeting the methodology requirements, evidencing the alignment of its sustainable development strategy with a global agenda. In general terms , this is a fundamental collective cooperation to promote significant impacts for a better world.
The evaluation of the signatory companies is conducted annually and takes into account criteria that are split into 17 objectives and 169 goals and are expected to be reached by the signatories by 2030. By fulfilling the requirements stipulated by the initiative, WEG is certified for 2019.
