WEG announced that the company just signed an agreement with FIAT to become the official supplier of charging stations for their new 500e electric vehicle.
The contract provides for the inclusion of two types of the WEMOB – WEG Electric Mobility new generation in FIAT´s product catalog, as well as the equipment installation service and technical support to customers.
Specifically designed to meet power, speed, connectivity and safety requirements when charging FIAT's electric vehicles, WEMOB Charging Stations will be offered to FIAT customers in two different types: WALL, designed for homes and condominiums, and PARKING, specially developed for shared use in public and private parking lots. Both stations are suitable for any voltage in Brazil and have all the protections required by national and international standards. With protection against UV rays and resistant to dust and water splash, the equipment can be installed both indoors and outdoors.
WEG charging stations are designed and manufactured in Brazil, count on a state-of-the-art design and allow internet connection and management platforms to measure and monitor each user´s consumption (service offered via subscription). In addition, they allow access control via proximity cards (RFID tags) or cell phone apps.
“We are taking another significant step in our strategy of offering efficient, sustainable and intelligent solutions for the electric mobility segment. We also want to provide FIAT customers with a unique experience for a quick and safe recharge”, says Manfred Peter Johann, Managing Director of WEG Automation Business Unit. WEG counts on a wide service network in Brazil and will keep the charging stations updated via Over-The-Air (connection through the customer's internet network), as well as providing spare parts replacement across the country.
New FIAT 500e
Regarded as Fiat's first 100% electric vehicle, the 500e was entirely redesigned in its third generation: developed on the new EV platform, the car is bigger, more connected, with unique equipment for the segment and with new style, offering an outstanding and modern looking.
