WEG, through the commercial and manufacturing support of its team in Mexico, supplied LATINOAMERICANA AGUA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE, an EPC company dedicated to engineering and construction in the energy and industrial sectors, with a large-scale electrical package that is part of the Madín II water treatment plant, located in the Metropolitan Area of the Valley of Mexico (ZMVM).

In the last decades, Mexico has been affected by unprecedented drought conditions, which has motivated the public sector to develop actions in various parts of the country to strengthen the population's access to quality drinking water.

To strengthen the supply of drinking water in the ZMVM, the Madín II plant was inaugurated, a project with the capacity to treat 500 liters per second (l/s), benefiting an estimated 155,000 inhabitants. The plant is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies, making it one of the most modern plants in Latin America.

The products supplied by WEG include Motor Control Centers (MCCs), control and power distribution panels, Frequency Inverter panels, capacitor banks, and a power substation. This package is part of an electrical and operational system for the plant's pumping systems, which is fully operable remotely—a significant benefit that WEG equipment offers to the user.

The water sector is one of the most important in Mexico, and for WEG, which has a wide range of products for the water and sanitation sector, the supply of these products reinforces the company's role in the energy transition towards a more efficient and sustainable world.
